In the past couple of years, a lot of things have changed in the world of the SEO industry.
However, certain fundamental principles of search engine optimization remain unchanged.
Now a day in the SEO industry, targeting keywords with the sole intent of improving organic rankings no longer works with search engines.
Beyond getting SEO juice, keywords reveal a lot more about users and what they’re struggling with.
1. Remove anything that slows down your site.
Page speed is a critical factor in SEO.
Website speed always plays a critical role in the success of the website. Google consider fast website on high priority as compared to the slow website. A fast website will help you to rank well in Google SERP.
2. Link to other websites with relevant content.
Most people think that linking out to relevant and authoritative content pages is bad because it takes people off your page.
But as per my opinion linking other websites makes your site a more valuable and scalable resource.
3. Write for humans first, search engines second.
Always create content first for users and then for search engines.
In other words – We must create content for users by keeping the Google search engine algorithm in the mind.
A user-friendly content will always help you to rank well in search engines and also encourage users to share or create a link back to your website.
4. Encourage other trustworthy sites to link to you.
Approach other websites or blogs to link back to your website. Google will always reward those websites which have both dofollow and nofollow links. So always create appealing and useful content so that other websites can link back to our website.
5. Have web analytics in place at the start.
We need to add analytics code in the <head> section of the website so that we can track the visitor’s activities and then prepare strategies as per the analytics data.
6. Write unique and relevant meta descriptions for every page.
Need to write meaningful, relevant and unique content for each and every page. Each page has its own set of content which contains respective content, so we must write unique meta content for every page based on their web content.
7. Use readable and meaningful URLs only.
SEO friendly URLs play a vital role in keyword ranking. We need to create a meaningful URL so that Google can understand your content better under those meaningful URLs.
8. Build momentum with social media signals.
Google hasn’t added social media signals into the ranking factors, but I personally have seen that social media signals do impact search engine ranking.
To take advantage of the social media signal, we need to create useful content on various social media platforms and add social media share or profile icon on the website or web pages.
9. Use the appropriate keywords in your images.
We need to use appropriate keywords while publishing any images. We can use keywords in the alt tag and renaming the images using keywords before uploading.
This will help you to rank your images in Google image search.
10. Publish unique content consistently to improve your rankings.
Google loves updated content. So we just need to update and publish unique content regularly, so that Google knows that your website updated regularly.
